Profile Information

What are your favorite ukuleles?
I have a 1930's Martin style 1 soprano, an Ohana CK-50G, and Ohana CK-70RB and a concert scale Flea in "mango"

My daughter Amanda has a Bushman Jenny concert, a Bruko baritone and Kala tenor w/pickup.
Who are your favorite ukulele players?
Roy Smeck, Cliff Edwards, John King, Craig Robertson, Lyle Ritz & John Kavanagh. Also all the great players in the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society.

Do you have recordings, CDs, Books for sale? Where can we find them?
The Barnkickers debut CD "Up Before Noon" features original songs performed by my me and my daughter Amanda . I also produced a ukulele compilation CD to support a group that provides free treatment for kids with Asperger's Syndrome. The CD is entitled "Square Pegs & Round Holes" and it features 16 ukulele artists incluing Greg Hawkes from The Cars and Grammy winner Ian Whitcomb. Both of these CD's are available from our website and from Flea Market Music. As a bass player I've appeared on CD's by jazz guitarist Nate Najar and world music band Gypsy Star, among others.
My Musical Biography
Although I'm priamarily a bass player (upright & electric) I have been playing uke for a few years and I'm hooked. My daughter Amanda also plays ukulele and we perform together as "The Barnkickers". We have released a CD of original music and last year we performed at the Bushman Ukulele Luau and had the #1 featured video on YouTube.

My day job is running an Assisted Living Facility and the residents enjoy it when I play my uke for them (I keep an Ohana uke in my office). It's also a great stress reliever on busy days.

I also run the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society where I can get together with other ukulele players in my area including some of my friends here on this website.
