My new Talsma uke is well varnished. My hand squeaks sliding up the neck.

Never played an instrument in my life until I picked up the the Ukulele to accompany myself singing and really this my main interest in the uke. But I do love it! Tony

dear ann

hi, it's ruby!
thanks for the heads up on the harp...
great to know that someone else loves to play the instrument that is never in tune and the instrument that is always in tune!

Looks like you have been furnishing your blog site. I have not turned my attention to this one yet. My daughter set up a blog for me several months ago, and I spend WAY too much time on it. It is great fun though! http://www.lifeat70.com

Live, love, laugh and play ukulele.

Ann, your music is WONDERFUL!! I've so enjoyed it and had fun tonight harmonizing and singing along with you. What a lovely voice you have, it's flawless, and your playing is terrific too. Wish you lived closer, it would be great to jam with you. Your songs are so well produced, the production values are very good. Mine are just one-offs, single pass on a digital recorder for the most part, but I hope to get a little better at this in the future.

I love the baritone ukulele. It's fairly new to me and I'm having fun tuning it in different ways. I really enjoy the way it sounds juxtaposed against the soprano and concert ukes.

You mentioned that you live part of the year in France, where do you live? I think that sounds wonderful. It's very nice to meet you.

Hey Ann-

I'm new to uke though thoroughly infected by the bug.

It's great you've been playing so long!

Indeed you're not alone...there is a thriving subculture, as I've discovered.

Cheers across four strings,

-- Gretchen

Who are your favorite ukulele players?
When young, it was Authur Godfrey I admired.
Since then, Marcie is the first person I have known who plays ukulele.
I have simply loved playing for 62 years mostly by myself. I taught Christina to play. She is pretty darn good.

My Musical Biography
Since I was very little, I've been playing all my music by ear. That's the short and long of it. I now write by ear using Sibelius.
In between I have loved playing the harp, the guitar, whistles, violin, nyckleharpa, hammered dulcimer and flute.
I sang with Gordon Bok for 40 years and for 27 of those
years we became a trio with the addition of Ed Trickett.
We remained good friends.
My Best and longest singing friend has been my daughter,
Christina.

Annie's photos. Large baritone uke is a Talsma uke. It's made of walnut with spruse top.

The small soprano uke was a gift frpm a long time friend. It's a Martin.
