Pacific Fun Day is a lot of fun and you get to meet lots of other ukulele enthusiasts there -- why not? lot's of islanders there too. Sorry won't be there myself, but wanted to endorse Boz' comments.

Hi Greg and Jim!

Thanks for your messages.

I would like to find a venue close enough that it would be convenient to everyone living in a fifteen mile radius of DC. This may prove difficult.

I have had a couple of suggestions for venues and would always welcome more.

I have set up an email address for the new group: ukeclub@yahoo.com

Anyone interested in coming along, however infrequently, is invited to send me an email so I can keep them informed of dates, venues, and send any song sheets suggested by members.

Just give fair warning of date and time - I'll try to schedule around it. FYI- I'll be in DC on Tuesday, June 23rd and will leave the evening open.

Would love to participate when my schedule allows it. I'd vote for closer in rather than farther out since I live in Maryland and work in Downtown DC. However, since I can't be a regular, don't make the decision based upon where I am.

Hi Ann.

Thanks for replying!

All suggestions welcome for venues. I found the Annapolis meets too far for regular trips. I am looking at different options. When I have got an idea who would like to come along, I can arrange a little chat to discuss where and how to arrange everything.
Ann Granger Comment by Ann Granger on June 7, 2009 at 9:51pm
I love this idea. Count me in! I live in Reston and most of the Maryland gatherings are just too far for me. A bit earlier than 8:00 might be better for folks who have to work early in the morning though. There's a very art/music friendly church in Alexandria called Convergence that might be amenable to hosting us. It's a very un-churchy space where the Songwriters Association has a lot of their meetings and events. Or we could meet at various homes. I would be happy to host the group.
