Does this group still meet? I have just moved to the area and am looking for fellow Uke players to jam with.

Hi Marcy -

Thanks for the update! You said the chord and lyric sheets are attached, but I didn't get them in the email. Did I miss something?

To: Uke Orchestra for Strathmore, 8/25/10
It's been a busy summer and UkeFest is nearly upon us. The Uke Orchestra will perform 3 songs together:
Ukulele Lady - led by Marcy key of C
Here's an interesting version from the Muppets with some counterpoint harmony.
Lyrics and chord sheets will be at rehearsal.
Pearly Shells- led by Ginger Johnson of Hula Honeys with Robyn dancing Hula
We'll go for this version without the flying chicken.
San Francisco Bay Blues- led by Bruce Hutton
here is the slow version

Attached are chord/lyric sheets
Here are youtube clips to practice with:

We will have 1 brief rehearsal on Tuesday, August 24th at 7:30pm, followed by a reception for the Hula Honeys so you can meet them before Wednesday. Given our travel schedule & the Hula honey's jet lag, please stick to the 7:30-9:30 time.

RSVP your participation in Uke Orchestra & reception via email to

Marcy, if you can't get a flatbed truck, here's the next best thing: With these straps, we could be a marching band!

I wonder if there's anyone out there interested in a ukulele jam at lunchtime on Capitol Hill? There are a couple of parks we could play in, if the weather is good.
